Oil inventories increased by 5.3 million barrels during the week ended August 26, 2011 according to the weekly petroleum status report from the EIA. The August 31 report also states that gasoline inventories were down 2.8 million barrels and inventories of distillate fuels increased by 400,000 barrels.
Refinery utilization was 89.2%, down 1.1% from the previous week.
