Gasoline prices in the United States have reached the highest level since September 2008. The average retail price for regular grade gasoline was $3.74 as of April 8, 2011. This is an increase of 12 cents from the previous week and 22 cents higher than the previous month. Gasoline prices are 88 cents per gallon higher than the same period in 2010.
U.S. gas prices hit a record high of $4.11 a gallon in July 2008.
